Company intends to trade around 200,000 cubic meters (m³) per day in 2023

Pré-Sal Petróleo (PPSA) must foster a competitive process to trade portions of natural gas the Federal Government is entitled to, in the Pre-salt Polygon, in the second half of this year. The company intends to trade a production of around 200,000 cubic meters (m³) per day in 2023, almost double the volume expected to 2022, of 125,000 m³ per day.

PPSA has, as of today, agreements in effect to trade natural gas of the Federal Government according to production sharing agreements in fields such as Surrounding Area of Sapinhoá and Búzios and in Tupi Shared Deposit. However, such agreements will expire at the end of this year. And thus, a new trading process is required.

The company is already checking, albeit informally, companies potentially interested in natural gas of the Federal Government to understand the main demands and prepare its commercial strategy. The initial idea is to allow companies to acquire natural gas from the wellbore, although sale at the outlet of the flowing system is still under consideration.

With the start of operation in the gas pipeline "Rota 3", which is expected to happen in the second half of this year, PPSA is also considering the inclusion of trading a portion of the natural gas owned by the Federal Government from fields of Sépia and Atapu in the process to be executed.
