This week, Pré-Sal Petróleo completed six years of activity, with plenty of positive results to celebrate. In 2019, oil commercialization within production sharing areas shall generate R$ 531 million to the Federal Government, increasing to R$ 569 million in 2020. Revenue from oil sales is growing, and may reach R$ 20 billion in 2028.

By the end of this year, overall Federal Government revenue from activities managed by Pré-Sal Petróleo shall amount to R$ 891 million, of which R$ 531 million results from oil sales and R$ 360 million from Equalization of Expenditures and Volumes (EGV) from the Production Development Agreements (AIPs). In 2018, total government revenue was R$ 1.13 billion.

Created in November 2013, Pré-Sal Petróleo focuses on three work fronts: management of Shared Production Agreements, representation of the Federal Government on Production Development Agreements (AIPs) and commercialization of oil and natural gas.

Until now, Pré-Sal Petróleo has signed 14 shared production agreements. In 2020, three more will have been signed from tenders held in November, for a total of 17. The company already entered into seven Production Development Agreements. Other 15 potential cases of production development are under analysis by the company.

In 2019, for the first time in its history, Pré-Sal Petróleo paid dividends to the Federal Government. The company deposited R$ 6.78 million for the General Coordination for Society Participations of the Ministry of Economy, regarding the 2018 financial outcome.
