The Company recorded net income of R$ 30.95 million in 2018
For the first time in its history, Pré-Sal Petróleo distributed dividends to the Federal Government. The company deposited R$ 6.78 million to the General Coordination of Equity Interest of the Ministry of Economy relating to the financial result for 2018.
In the previous year, Pré-Sal Petróleo recorded a net income of R$ 30.95 million, generating positive results for four consecutive years.
The gross revenue from services through the management of contracts and representation of the Federal Government totaled R$ 45.07 million, and the company earned a portion of signature bonuses relating to the contracts executed in the 2ndand 3rd Production Sharing Bidding Rounds held in 2017, in the total amount of R$ 53.88 million, totaling a gross annual revenue of R$ 98.95 million. Pré-Sal Petróleo recovered R$ 16.1 million in taxes, accumulated R$ 3 million in financial revenues and received capital contribution of R$ 6 million.
The Company recorded profit before Income Tax and Social Contribution on Profit of R$ 46.66 million, recording a provision for Income Tax and Social Contribution on Profit of R$ 15.71 million. According to the director of Administration, Control and Finance, Leandro Leme, although the Company has been recording profit for four years, the Company had not yet distributed dividends because it had previous liabilities to settle. "We try to maintain a lean structure of costs and strict management of financial resources, contributing positively to the balance of the government accounts”, he said.
In addition to the dividends, Pré-Sal Petróleo generated R$ 1.133 billion in tax revenue to the National Treasury in 2018. This sum results from the sales of the portion of the Federal Government’s production volumes in the Mero development area, totaling approximately 200,000 m3 of oil, in the amount of R$ 286 million, and the Equalization of Expenses and Volumes (EGV) of the Sapinhoá Field.
