FPSO Ilha Bela, in Sapinhoá Source: Facts and Data of Petrobras
On Monday, Pré-Sal Petróleo executed two contracts for
the purchase of natural gas with Petrobras, referring to the Sapinhoá and Lula
fields, located in the Pre-Salt Polygon. The contracts are valid until December
2018 and they represent one daily volume to the order of 230 thousand cubic meters.
The negotiation was made directly by Pré-Sal Petróleo, a company linked to the
Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) which is responsible for the
commercialization of the Federal Government’s share of oil and gas in the pre-salt.
The beginning of the delivery of the gas to Petrobras depends on approval of
the Production Unitization Agreements of both fields by the National Petroleum
Agency (ANP).
The Sapinhoá Field, located in the Santos Basin, is exploited by a consortium
composed by Petrobras (operator, with 45%), Shell (30%) and Repsol (25%). The
Lula field is the principal producer of the pre-salt and is also located in the
Santos Basin. The field is operated by Petrobras (65%) with Shell (25%) and
Repsol-Sinopec (10%) as partners.
